Rep. Davis (D-Augusta),
a lifetime resident of
Georgia, was raised in
South Augusta. He was
educated in Richmond County’s
public schools where he
graduated from Hephzibah
High School and went to
Georgia Tech, where he
received his undergraduate
degree in Electrical Engineering.
Hardie has also received
a Doctorate in Ministry
degree in August 2002
from Christian Life School
of Theology located in
Columbus, Georgia.
Rep. Davis is married
to the former Ms. Evett
Plather. Hardie and Evett
are the proud parents
of Benjamin J. Davis.
Rep. Davis worked as a
successful Engineer for
almost seventeen years
before pursuing a full-time
career as pastor. An active
member of the Augusta
community, Rep. Davis
has served on several
boards and commissions.
Hardie currently is a
Trustee of the University
Health Care Foundation.
He was also nominated
to serve on the Board
of Trustees for Leadership
Georgia for a 3 year term
beginning in January 2010.
Hardie
has spent his entire life
working to solve problems
and make life better for
others through community
outreach, mentoring, and
leadership training.
Rep. Davis was first elected
to the Georgia General
Assembly in 2006. He was
elected in a runoff, winning
sixty-eight (68%) of all
votes cast. Hardie Davis
has provided successful
leadership as State Representative
for District 122. He currently
serves in the House of
Representatives on the
Budget and Fiscal Affairs
Oversight Committee, Energy,
Utilities & Telecommunications
Committee, Natural Resources
& Environment Committee,
and Science and Technology
Committee.
